ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s textile exports have witnessed 12 percent decrease in September 2023 as compared to the corresponding month last year. 

Sharing the data on the microblogging platform X, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) told that the textile exports stood at US$ 1.35 billion in September 2023 whereas they were recorded worth of US$ 1.53 in September 2022.

The data showed that in the first nine months of the ongoing Fiscal Year 2023-24, the textile exports remained US$ 11.90, showing a decrease of 18 percent compared to the same period in the previous year when they stood at US$ 14.53.Pakistan’s textile exports witness 12% decrease in September 2023

Separately, the APTMA said that measures taken to control the misuse of the Afghan transit trade will yield lasting benefits; save foreign exchange and boost the domestic industry whose potential has been shrunk in the past due to smuggling and misuse of the Afghan Transit Trade.

“We laud the efforts of the Ministry of Commerce for taking bold measures, necessary for strengthening our economy,” the association wrote on X.
