ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has said that the federal government targets to collect Rs 6,000 billion in taxes during the Fiscal Year 2021-22 whilst our exports and remittances each will touch US$ 30 billion.

While addressing a News Conference in Islamabad on Saturday, the minister said that our tax collection and exports are increasing as a result of better policies.

   

Hammad Azhar said that the present government has introduced historic reforms in different sectors including energy to take forward the Country, adding that the process of reforms will continue in the months and years ahead in order to ensure sustainable development.

The minister said that the government is focusing on improving the electricity transmission system. He said that 70 to 80 percent electricity will be produced from indigenous resources by 2030. He added that we have started work on the construction of 10 dams.

The energy minister pointed out that our gas reserves are depleting and we have to look for various options to meet the domestic requirements.

Separately, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said in a Tweet said that the Country received record remittances of US$ 15.8 billion during the first six months of the Current Fiscal Year.

The information minister said that there has been an increase of 11.3 percent in remittances. He said that Overseas Pakistanis continue to show their confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
