RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Heavy exchange of firing continues between Pakistani and Indian troops at the Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimber Sector on Thursday evening, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

In a statement, the ISPR said that Indian troops resorted to unprovoked heavy shelling at LoC at various places of Bhimber Sector.

   

The ISPR said that Pakistani troops responding to Indian firing and effectively targeting their positions.

“Heavy exchange of firing continues,” it added.

The cross-border firing across the LoC and Working Boundary has become a routine as tensions simmer between Pakistan and India following an alleged surgical strike, unrest in Kashmir and the Uri army base attack.

On Wednesday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif told media representatives that more than 45 Indian soldiers had been killed so far in retaliatory fire at the LoC and Working Boundary.

The COAS also said that 11 Indian soldiers were killed in cross fire at the LoC on November 14 while seven Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom.
