PakistanUS embassy observes moment of silence for victims of APS

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: American and Pakistani staff of the US Embassy observed here on Wednesday a moment of silence and remembrance in honor of victims of the attack on the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar on December, 16 last year.

They all gathered in the Raphel Memorial Gardens at the Embassy to pay homage to the victims of terrorists.

“We strongly condemn this and other attacks and stand with Pakistan in its fight against violence and extremism. The United States remains committed to promoting a secure, stable, and prosperous Pakistan,” said an embassy statement quoting Charge d’ affaires Jonathan Pratt.

The US recognized and deeply appreciated the sacrifices of Pakistanis in struggle against the terrorism, he added.

Jonathan Pratt said the brutal murder of innocent children and teachers at the hands of terrorists shocked us all adding that we stood with the people of Pakistan in mourning this great loss.

“But the loss of that day is not forgotten. Today, we remember those who lost lives, and recommit to working with Pakistan for a safer, more secure, and hopeful future for all Pakistanis and Americans alike,”  he added.
