UK will continue to cooperate with Punjab govt in social sectors: envoy

LAHORE: The United Kingdom has assured that it will continue to cooperate with the Punjab government in education, health and other social sectors.

The assurance was given by the UK High Commissioner in Pakistan Philip Barton who called on the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the UK High Commissioner appreciated the untiring work being done by the Punjab chief minister for improvement of various social sectors in the province.

On the occasion, the Punjab chief minister said that both the Punjab government and UK’s Development Department for International Development (DFID) are heading towards adopting a comprehensive road map regarding the skill development sector.

The chief minister said that the sphere of skill development program will be expanded all over the province.

Shahbaz Sharif further said that school reforms program is being successfully implemented in Punjab with the cooperation of the DFID.
