PakistanTribesmen call for Qabailistan province

PESHAWAR: People from tribal areas of Pakistan have demanded a separate province “for an end to sense of deprivation in people of tribal agencies,” Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Sunday.

The protesting tribesmen claim to have gained the support of Pakistan’s mainstream political parties PML-N and the MQM for the cause of a new province.

According to reports, dozens of tribesmen, carrying play cards and banners in their hands, took to streets in Peshawar calling for a separate province for the people of tribal areas of Pakistan.

In the protest demonstration, organized by Muttahida Qabail Party (United Tribal Party), tribesmen demanded that a separate province comprising seven tribal agencies and frontier regions be created “for an end to sense of deprivation in people of tribal agencies.”

“Why not a separate province for us, if South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces are being made? It’s our right,” the demonstrators said, chanting “we want Qabailistan”.
