PakistanSwiss authorities’ decision vindicates my stance: Aitzaz Ahsan

LAHORE: The letter written by Swiss authorities mentioning their inability to reopen graft cases Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has vindicated his stance on the issue, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said on Tuesday.

“The Swiss authorities have made the right decision,” Pakistan Peoples’ Party’s (PPP) senior leader told media, adding that he has been saying all along that President Zardari enjoys full immunity.

Aitzaz said that former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has unnecessarily suffered due to his stance of not writing the letter to the Swiss government. He further said that the stature of the Supreme Court has been hurt by Swiss authorities’ decision not to reopen cases against the President.
