Lahore, Pakistan: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the month of September has a significant place in the history of Pakistan as the armed forces of Pakistan gave a befitting response to the enemy committing aggression against Pakistan and defeated it.

He said that the officers and jawans of Pak army imbued with the spirit of defense of the motherland foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy. He said that Pak army wrote such everlasting stories of bravery and valor in the war of defense of the country as are unprecedented in the history of the world.

He said the Pak army was once again writing a new history of gallantry in the war against terrorism for the survival and stability of the country. The Chief Minister said that officers and jawans of Pak army are rendering invaluable sacrifices for purging the country of menace of terrorism and making it a heaven of peace and security which are unprecedented in the history.

In his special message on the golden jubilee of Defense Day, Shehbaz Sharif said that the war of September 1965 is the glorious chapter of defense history of Pakistan. He said that Pak army set such magnificent examples of valor and bravery on every front of war as will be remembered forever. He said that Pak army and the entire nation proved as a rock wall against the enemy and gave a befitting response with full force to the aggression of the enemy.

The Chief Minister said that the nation needs the same national unity and spirit today which it had proved practically during the defense war of the country. He said that Pak army rendered sacrifices for defense of the motherland in September 1965 and now officers and jawans of Pak army are writing a new history of valor and bravery in the ongoing war against terrorism for the stability and survival of the country.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the entire nation is proud of brave army of the country and those sacrificing their lives for the motherland are heroes of the entire nation. He said that this day 18 crore people of the country pay homage to the everlasting sacrifices of these brave sons. He said that the operation zarb-e-azb against terrorism has yielded positive results and this successful operation has hit hard to the terrorists.

The Chief Minister said that the entire nation is united in the war against terrorism. He expressed the hope that the country would be purged of the scourge of terrorism with the unity of the nation and Pakistan will be made a heaven of peace. He said that the Pakistani nation has faced challenges with steadfastness in every hour of trail since the creation of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif said that PML-N government formally got accepted the country as an atomic power in 1998 by making the defense of the country invincible. He said that due to the courageous stance of PML-N and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the foundation of an independent and autonomous Pakistan was laid by conducting nuclear tests and no one can cast evil eye to it. He said that September 6 is the day of paying homage to the great sacrifices of martyrs and reiteration of the commitment of loyalty to Pakistan.

The Chief Minister said let us pledge on this day that as a nation we will also defeat internal and external threats through unity like we had defeated the enemy on every front in 1965. He said that the nation needs the same spirit and unity today for coping with the challenges being confronted by the country which it had displayed during the war of September 1965. He said that PML-N government made the defense of the country unconquerable by conducting atomic blasts in 1998 and now this party will strengthen Pakistan economically under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

Shehbaz Sharif said that on the occasion of the Defense Day, we have to pledge to work jointly for the stability of the motherland by forgetting mutual differences and spare no effort in making the defense of the country strong and also an economic power as well as a welfare state in the real sense.
