ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has decided to close mobile phone service in Karachi and other parts of Sindh for next 22 hours.

Owing to security threats on polling day (tomorrow), Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has decided to close mobile phone service from 7.00pm today to 5.00pm tomorrow.

Earlier, the caretaker regime had announced that the mobile phone service will not be closed on polling day but the Election Commission expressed fear that it could be closed to avoid terrorism attacks on Election Day (May 11).

Finally, the PTA has taken decision to keep close mobile phone service from this evening till close of voting process tomorrow at 5.00pm.

Immediately after hearing the news of mobile phone closure, people called to their relatives, friends, and other persons of importance and shared this news of communication blockade for next 22 hours.
