LAHORE: Prof. Dr. Syed Ali Haider, a senior member of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), was shot dead along with his son near FC College in Lahore on Sunday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

The sources said that Dr. Ali, who was Professor of Ophthalmology in PGMI & Lahore General Hospital, was driving his son to school today morning when unknown gunmen opened fire on him.

Dr. Ali died on the spot while his 12-year-old son succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

The deceased was the son Dr. Syed Zafar Haider (Professor of Surgery) and son in law of Dr. Iftikhar Ali Raja (Professor of Neurosurgery).

In a statement, PMA has strongly condemned this brutal act of target killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
