ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday called for strengthening bilateral ties with Ukraine and urged upon the ambassador-designate to encourage Ukrainian investors to take advantage of the Pakistan’s business opportunities.
Talking to Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Ukraine Major General (retd) Athar Abbas here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President stressed the need to expand people-to-people contacts and exchange of delegations in trade, culture and education sectors.
The President hoped that the Ambassador-designate would make concerted efforts to strengthen the friendly ties that exist between the two countries.
He noted that bilateral trade between the two countries had shown increase in the recent years and added that efforts should be made to ensure that the momentum continues to further enhance the quantum of bilateral trade.
The President asked the ambassador-designate to focus on image building by highlighting the rich and diversified cultural heritage and democratic and progressive nature of the Pakistani society.
He congratulated ambassador-designate on his appointment to Ukraine and wished him success in discharge of his new responsibilities.
