LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif on Thursday announced his party election manifesto, envisaging end of energy crisis in two years and raising minimum wages to 15‚000 rupees, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Addressing a news conference at the Lahore Press Club, the PML- N chief said that his party would conduct local bodies’ elections within six months of coming into power.

The PML-N manifesto pledges generation of 5‚000 megawatts of electricity through coal-based power plants. The party has also pledged tax reforms‚ increase in literacy rate and an independent foreign policy.

The PML-N also vowed to create Hazara, Bahawalpur and South Punjab provinces once in power.  “PML-N would continue its struggle for establishment of Bahawalpur province for the people of South Punjab so that their standard of living could be improved,” the manifesto pledges.

The PML-N chief said that destiny of the nation would be changed with untiring struggle and sincere planning and management.  He said that PML-N would introduce a revolutionary social welfare programs on sound footings so that economic depreciation of the youth may be removed for ever.

According to the manifesto, agriculture and industrial sectors would be uplifted to compete with global challenges while accountability system would be made affective and restoration of peace and tranquility would be made hall mark of the day.

Nawaz said that defence of the country would be made strong and stable equipped with latest and scientific techniques in order to maintain balance of power in the region.  He said that relations with the neighboring countries particularly with China would be given priority.
