ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Monday said Pakistan values its close brotherly relations with Azerbaijan which are based on historic, cultural and religious commonalities.

Talking to outgoing ambassador of Azerbaijan Dashgin, the speaker appreciated contributions of the ambassador in bringing Pakistan and Azerbaijan more closer.

The Speaker said that the support, both the countries extend to each other on different issues and forums was a manifestation of strong ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

He appreciated Azerbaijani support to Pakistan on the principled stand of Kashmir. The Speaker also appreciated the Ambassador for his efforts in facilitating Azerbaijani business community to visit Pakistan for exploring further avenues of cooperation in diverse fields, said a press release.

The Ambassador thanked the Speaker for his remarks and said that he had received affection and cooperation from the Government and people of Pakistan during his posting in Pakistan.

He said that government and people of Azerbaijan greatly value their friendship with Pakistan. Azerbaijan and Pakistan share same views on various matter including Kashmir issue and would continue extending its support on regional and international foras.

He said that legislature of Azerbaijan strongly desires to strengthen its ties with Pakistan through parliamentary cooperation.
