The three-day 44th meeting between Pakistan Rangers and Border Security Force (BSF) concluded at BSF Headquarters in New Delhi on Friday.

Pakistan Rangers-Indian BSF meeting is held alternately in Pakistan and India on yearly basis.

This year, Pakistan Rangers delegation including representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Force headed by the Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) represented Pakistan in the meeting which was held from November 8-10 in highly congenial and conducive atmosphere.

There has been a sincere endeavor from both the forces to encourage the local commanders at junior level to mutually resolve the minor issues, related to border management at post, company and battalion level.Pakistan Rangers-Indian Border Security Force meeting concludes in New Delhi

During the meeting, measure were also discussed to effectively check the smuggling and border crossings from both sides.

It was also discussed that Cease Fire Violations (CFVs) and unprovoked firing results in loss of innocent lives. At many occasions, women and children also become the victims. To overcome this ordeal, both border guarding forces need to revive the spirit of 2003 Cease Fire agreement.

In order to address the miseries of inadvertent border crossers and fishermen detained in Indian Jails due to lengthy and complicated repatriation process, both sides explored.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
