WASHINGTON: The US State Department expressed hope that the meeting between US President Barack Obama and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be useful.

“US has strong ties with Pakistan and high-level negotiations between the two countries will further strengthen them,” a State Department spokesperson said.
