Nawaz Sharif to leave for Turkey on Friday to discuss Middle East situation

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit Turkey on Friday to discuss the Middle East situation with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In a statement on Thursday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that the prime minister and the Turkish president ‘will exchange views on the situation relating to Yemen.’

The two leaders will also discuss how the two countries can be helpful in addressing the issue, the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, the foreign office spokesperson at her weekly press briefing in Islamabad said that the Parliament would decide on issue of sending troops to Saudi Arabia according to peoples’ aspirations and national interest.

“The aspirations of the people of Pakistan will be articulated when their representatives meet on Monday in Parliament,” Aslam said.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to protect the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.

Tasnim Aslam said that Pakistan condemns all non-state actors to over through a legitimate government of Yemen. It also called upon the warring groups in Yemen to move towards dialogue, she added.
