PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister Atif Khan Friday directed Secretary Energy and Power and Education and other departments to expedite work on various projects signed with two provinces of Iran in energy, mineral exploration, agriculture, livestock industry and trade, education and culture.     

Presiding over a meeting held here to review update on different Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) signed with Faras and Ispahan provinces of Iran in 2011-12 with KPK government, the minister remarked that the projects have already delayed and directed concerned departments to pay attention to these projects and facilitate Iranian investors for lasting bilateral relations and development of the province.

He said that Iran has expertise in energy and power sector and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the province where great there is great potential in the sector.

He said the potential is also there in tourism, higher education, agriculture and other sectors for investment in KPK adding the two sides should have to identify their priorities and initiate works.

The Minister said that KPK government wants to strengthen relations with brotherly country Iran and bilateral cooperation in different sectors could be a milestone is this regard.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Energy and Power and Education Ali Raza Bhutta, Chief Economist Planning and Development Ayaz Khan and representatives of other departments.
