PakistanKashmir issue in no way an internal affair of India: Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said Kashmir issue is in no way an internal affair of India as it is disputed area and an unfinished agenda of partition.

Responding to a point raised by an Indian journalist during a private news channel program, Rana Sanaullah contested, “since there are UN resolutions on Kashmir issues and a commitment by the then Indian Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru to give Kashmiri people right to self-determination, nobody should say that it is internal affair of India.”

He said there is need to analyze the freedom movement of Kashmiri people and international community must hear to voice of innocent Kashmiris who are subjected to cruelties of Indian forces.

“Even in late 1980s and early 1990s India quelled the freedom movement when Kashmiris uprising had shaken the world conscience. Now once again India is bent upon use of force to usurp just right of Kashmiris to self-determination,” he added.

The minister however, pleaded that there should be no impression of violence in the struggle because India will exploit it to malign the Kashmiri people who are struggling for their just right.

Participating in the discussion, Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mir Waiz Umar Farooq said practically there is war like situation in occupied Kashmir.

“Curfew has been imposed for many days, people are restricted to their home while Indian forces have killed 35 innocent people injuring another 1500 Kashmiris.”

He said even this is not enough and Indian government is sending more troops to occupied area in an effort to quell our voices with the brutal use of force.

He demanded immediate withdrawal of occupying forces, repeal draconian laws and stop genocide of Kashmiri people.

“People are being killed, they are tortured and handicapped. What it should be called other than state terrorism. We are seeing the worst examples of human rights violation.”

Secretary Information Pakistan Peoples’ Party Qamar Zaman Kaira said, innocent people are being killed in occupied Kashmir and it is not the matter of this side or that side.

“Kashmiris are forcefully demanding allegiance with Pakistan and we shall continue their political, diplomatic and moral support.”
