PakistanIrfan Siddiqui made PM's Advisor

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui was Tuesday elevated to the status of Advisor and would head the newly created division of National History and Literary Heritage.

A notification in this regard was issued after President Mamnoon Hussain approved the summary forwarded by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his appointment.

According to another notification, the creation of new division of National History and Literary Heritage was also approved by the Prime Minister to oversee the functioning of all the educational, literary, research, and historically important institutions.

Earlier, these were parts of ministries including Information Ministry, Cabinet Division etc.

Pakistan Academy of Letters, Quaid-e-Azam Papers Wing, Urdu Dictionary Board, Urdu Science Board, National Language Authority, Quaid-e-Azam Academy, Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Iqbal Academy, Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum Management Board, Quaid-e-Azam Memorial Fund, National Book Foundation, Department of Archaeology and Museum, Shalimar Recording Company besides institutions promoting national and regional languages would work under the new division.
