ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued a notice to SHO Aabpara on a petition seeking registration of FIR against former president Musharraf in Lal Masjid case.

A single-member bench, comprising Justice Noor Ul Haq Qureshi, heard a petition filed by Haroon Urrashid, the son of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi who was killed in army action.

Abdul Rashid Ghazi’s mother was also killed in the operation.

Counsel for applicant, Advocate Tariq Asad, prayed that Lal Masjid probe commission reveals that the army operation was ordered by Musharraf who is responsible for the tragedy according to the report, therefore a case be registered against him.

The advocate told the court that SHO Aabpara was approached for filing of FIR but he has not so far registered the case.

The Islamabad High Court formally admitted the petition for hearing and issued a notice to SHO Aabpara, seeking a report within seven days.
