ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Friday filed a review petition in Supreme Court against his conviction in contempt of court case in NRO implementation case, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Gilani was convicted on April 26 last year by a seven-member bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk till end of court proceedings in NRO implementation case.

On June 19 last year, three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had disqualified him from National Assembly seat

The ex-premier had contacted the apex court against his disqualification; however, he had not challenged his conviction. Two days back, the Supreme Court granted a week to Yousuf Raza Gilani to file a review petition against his own conviction.
