PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday vowed to ensure timely and dignified return of temporarily displaced people (TDPs) to resettle them in their homes.

In the Special Apex Committee meeting at the Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Tuesday, the COAS reiterated his commitment with tribal brethren to rebuild the area and revive the entire socio-eco infrastructure.

The COAS emphasised to expedite resettlement by removing impediments causing delay in timely completion.

General Raheel also paid tributes to resilience of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) who stood up to terrorist ‘atrocities, and pushed and marginalized them.

Earlier in the day, the General Raheel Sharif arrived at the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar to preside over the Special Apex Committee meeting to review security measures and operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.

The main focus of the meeting was return, resettlement and rehabilitation of TDPs in FATA.
