PakistanECP summons meeting with political parties on Monday

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned a meeting with political parties on Monday following printing of new nomination papers, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Friday.

The sources said that the ECP sent letter to the representatives of political parties inviting them for a meeting on Monday to discuss various issues pertaining to upcoming general elections.

Meanwhile, following completion of the printing of the amended nomination papers, they are being dispatched across the country.

It may be recalled that earlier members of the parliamentary committee wanted to meet the ECP as regards to their reservations over nomination papers, but it could not be possible as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) was reportedly indisposed, while the other ECP members took the stance that they could meet the political leaders only in the presence of CEC.
