ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday formed a committee to finalize code of conduct for media to be observed during the forthcoming general elections, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between officials of the ECP and heads of different media organizations in Islamabad today.

The committee, headed by Election Commission Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, would present a code of conduct for media to the electoral body within two days.

The committee, formed after reservations emerged over the media code of conduct, also includes heads of CPNE‚ APNS‚ PFUJ‚ Director General Radio Pakistan‚ MD PTV‚ PIO Ministry of Information and Broadcasting‚ PEMRA‚ Pakistan Broadcasters Association and Regional Director Public Relations Election Commission.
