ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Chief Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan announced on Wednesday that he would not contest the upcoming general elections, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

He would only run canvassing campaign for honest candidates, said Dr. Qadeer in his address to a function held in connection with Pakistan Day in Islamabad this evening.

Dr. Qadeer, distinguished as the father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, gave away gold medals to seventeen people for their outstanding performance in their respective fields.
