China helps Pakistan overcome electricity shortage

ISLAMABAD: China is implementing a number of projects to overcome electricity shortage in Pakistan, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said in an interview with media.

The Chinese ambassador said that these projects include Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Plant, Nandipur Power Project, Gomal Zam, Khan Khawar, Dubair Khawar, Thar Coal Power Project and renewable energy.

Sun Weidong said that trade between China and Pakistan jumped up to $14.2 billion last year.

In addition, he said that Karakorum Highway will also be upgraded to further enhance trade between the two neighbors.
