PakistanCEC Fakhruddin welcomes SC verdict on Qadri’s petition

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim on Wednesday welcomed Supreme Court’s verdict on Tahirul Qadri’s petition, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Commenting on SC verdict, Ibrahim said the court’s judgment reflects confidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).  All baseless objections raised against the ECP have been removed, he said, adding there is no question mark now.

“All the talk against us should stop now. Our only objective is to conduct free, fair and transparent elections in the country,” he said. “We expected a similar verdict from the Supreme Court.”

The CEC Fakhruddin said the ECP was formed according to the constitution.
