ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has persuaded Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani to step down and send an advice to Balochistan Governor to dissolve the provincial assembly along with National Assembly.

In a meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President directed Raisani not to affect the national consensus regarding holding of general elections on single day.

The sources said that Chief Minister Balochistan has hinted that he is ready to resign. They added that Raisani could resign on Saturday.
