ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation.

The understanding was reached in a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov in Islamabad on Tuesday.Pakistan, Turkmenistan agree to strengthen bilateral ties

In the meeting, the two dignitaries held a discussion on a range of bilateral areas of cooperation and regional and global issues of mutual concern.

They agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance high level dialogue and exchanges at the leadership level.

The two leaders will also lead their respective delegations at the Third Round of Bilateral Political Consultations and explore avenues of bilateral cooperation with special focus on trade, investment and energy cooperation, regional connectivity and cultural relations.

The two sides will also discuss global and regional developments and areas of cooperation in multilateral forums.

The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rasit Meredow arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a three-day visit.
