Pakistan surpasses China in Coronavirus Cases, records 85,264 Cases

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has surpassed China in terms of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cases as after the detection of 4,688 more Cases in the last 24 hours, the total of people having been diagnosed with the virus across the Country has reached 85,264.

China, wherein the Novel Coronavirus originated, has so far recorded 83,022 Cases whereas 4,634 people have succumbed to the virus in the Mainland.

In addition to 85,264 COVID-19 Cases, Pakistan has suffered 1,770 deaths including 82 which occurred in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan conducted the highest number of COVID-19 tests which stood 20,167, most of them - 7,547 - were carried out in Sindh whereas 6,785 tests were conducted in Punjab. To date, a total of 615,511 Coronavirus tests have been conducted throughout the Country. The highest number of Coronavirus Cases has so far been registered in Sindh wherein 32,910 people have been tested positive, and of them 555 have lost their lives while 16,022 have got recovered. The Punjab province has recorded 31,104 Cases, 607 deaths, and 7,712 recoveries. Similarly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have recorded 11,373 and 5,224 Cases respectively. Both the provinces have also suffered 500 and 51 deaths respectively. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has so far witnessed 3,544 Coronavirus Cases, 38 deaths, and 518 recoveries; and Gilgit-Baltistan has 824 Cases, 12 deaths, and 532 recoveries. Moreover, 285 people have contracted the virus in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 7 have died and 173 have now recovered.

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan conducted the highest number of COVID-19 tests in a single day which stood 20,167, most of them – 7,547 – were carried out in Sindh whereas 6,785 tests were conducted in Punjab.

To date, a total of 615,511 Coronavirus tests have been conducted throughout the Country.
