ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned a car bomb blast in Central Istanbul which caused loss of innocent lives.

Earlier in day, a car packed with explosives was detonated by remote control in Istanbul’s Vezneciler district as the police bus drove by. Eventually, 11 people including seven police officers were killed while 36 sustained injuries.

   

“Pakistan condemns this terrorist act in the strongest terms and reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and to the brotherly people and government of Turkey. We also wish the speediest recovery for the injured.”

The statement said that as always, Pakistan stands in strong solidarity with the fraternal people of Turkey and is sure in its belief that they will succeed in their resolute fight against terrorism and will defeat this scourge decisively.
