ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the government and people of Pakistan stand in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh, sincerely hoping for a peaceful and swift return to normalcy.

“We are confident that the resilient spirit and unity of the Bangladeshi people will lead them towards a harmonious future,” said the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Wednesday.

In Bangladesh, following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid amid violent protests by students against quota system in government jobs, President Mohammed Shahabuddin has dissolved the Parliament to make way for the formation of an interim administration.

The nobel peace prize winner Muhammad Yunus will head the interim government in Bangladesh.
