ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan is looking for strengthening of relation with Italy.

“Mutual trade and business and people to people contact may be increased for strengthening of bilateral relations”, Asif said while talking to the Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Stefano Pontecorvo who along with Executive Vice President-designate ENI Luca Vignati held a meeting with the minister in Islamabad on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of mutual interest and cooperation in the field of energy sector.

The minister said that the economy of Pakistan is progressing and initiatives taken by the present democratic government are friendly for the international community to get invest in Pakistan especially in energy and infrastructure developments.

In his remarks, the Italian envoy apprised about the friendly relations Pakistan and Italy are enjoying at various level.
