MOSCOW, Russia: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a meeting with his Russian Counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday as he reached Moscow on the final leg of his tour to regional Countries to discuss the Afghan peace process, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

In his meeting with Sergey Lavrov, Shah Mahmood Qureshi discussed the Pakistan-Russia bilateral relations and the regional situation.

   

Their discussion especially emphasized on the ongoing efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi took his Russian Counterpart into confidence over Pakistan’s efforts to promote the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.

Earlier Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited Afghanistan, Iran and China where he discussed with his Counterparts Salahuddin Rabbani, Dr. Javad Zarif and Wang Yi  as well as other high ranking officials the regional peace and stability in the context of Afghan peace process.
