Pakistan receives pledges of 8 Billion Dollars in Geneva

Monitoring Desk: Pakistan received pledges of $8 billion Dollars in Geneva during International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan, co-hosted by the Government of Pakistan and the United Nations.

Hereunder is the breakup of the pledges:

Islamic Development Bank — $4.2 billion

World Bank — $2 billion

Asian Development Bank — $1 billion

USAID — $100 million

Japan — $77 million

Germany — €84 million

European Union — €0.5 billion

France — $10 million

China — $100 million

The figure indicates that Islamic Development Bank promised $4.2 billion, World Bank promised $2 billion and Asian Development Bank promised $1 billion. It is yet clear whether these pledges are soft loans or grants or aids.
