KARACHI, Pakistan: The Pakistan Navy War game SHAMSHEER-E-BAHR-VIII kicked off in Karachi on Monday.

In his address, the Chief Guest Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi highlighted Pakistan’s internal & external challenges, and also underscored the significance of war games in the military planning process.

The Naval Chief appreciated the Force Commander presentation outlining the concept and objective of the war game.

Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi highlighted that merchant traffic to/from Gwadar port in the backdrop of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will increase and so will the responsibility of the Pakistan Navy to ensure the security of Sea Lines of communications

The SHAMSHEER-E-BAHR is a Flagship war game of the Pakistan Navy that is held biennially to corroborate various concepts which are validated in subsequent maritime exercises prior being incorporated in naval strategy.

The War Game will comprise the participation of tri-services and government ministries.
