LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government and Pakistan Navy on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of Bahria Model School in Gwadar, Balochistan.

Under the agreement, the Punjab government will fund for Bahria Model School to impart quality education to the people of Gwadar.

“I would like to thank the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for funding an educational institution in Gwadar,” the Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi said while addressing the MoU Signing Ceremony held at the Chief Minister Office in Lahore.

The Naval Chief said that Pakistan Navy is the guardian of geographic boundaries of the Country. He said that awareness among the public is the need of the hour.

Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi said that we have taken permission of shipyard from the government. He said that India and Bangladesh have several shipyards, and we need to establish more ports.

Furthermore, he said that Pakistan Navy has played an important role in the development of the Country.

In his remarks, the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said that we are constructing Cadet College in DG Khan. He said that we are establishing Model School in Gwadar with the cooperation of Pakistan Navy.

In a statement, a Punjab government official said that the provincial government has given top priority to imparting quality education not only to the children in Punjab but to children across Pakistan.

The official said that establishment of Bahria Model School & College in collaboration with Pakistan Navy is one such initiative under which education to the children of underprivileged areas of Balochistan will be provided.
