ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Navy on Thursday observed the World Maritime Day 2021 in harmonization with the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

The World Maritime Day 2021 is being observed with the theme ‘Seafarers at the core of Shipping’s Future’.

   

In a statement, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi said that the Pakistan Navy is fully aware of challenges being faced by the shipping community and wellbeing of seafarers, appropriate training and qualification is to be given priority.

In connection with the Day, the Pakistan Navy organized a range of activities to highlight the significance of the maritime sector and the contribution of seafarers.

It organized activities which included a webinar at Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore, harbour cleaning, maritime awareness lectures, and essay competitions at Field Commands.
