ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan provides equal rights to all the people living in the Country despite their race and religion.

While addressing foreign diplomats in Islamabad on Saturday, Shahbaz Sharif said that even the flag of Pakistan reflects the equal rights for the people living in the Country.

   

Shahbaz Sharif – who is also the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President – also said that Pakistan is the peace loving Country, and it has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

“In the 21st Century, Pakistan is again perceived as the front line state in the campaign against the terrorism and extremism. In the process, Pakistan has suffered and sacrificed the most, losing 70,000 soldiers and civilian men, women and children,” he said.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that Pakistan comes under the most effected Countries with the terrorism. He said that Pakistan army has unshakable passion against the terrorism.

Shahbaz Sharif said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has brought more development in Pakistan, adding that in the last five years many developmental projects have been completed under the CPEC.

“With the help of China, we have been able to produce 5000MW of electricity. We have achieved this with complete transparency,” he said.

The Chief Minister further said that today we are able to show to the world that our gross domestic product (GDP) has touched 5.8 percent which is the highest in the last 13 years.

“We want to double our GDP not by taking on loans but by expanding our tax base. We need to look inward rather than outward,” the Chief Minister added.

Furthermore, he said that Pakistan’s major population comprises of youth and it is now that we need to provide them with opportunities. He said that we need to empower our youth by technical education by providing them with jobs.

“We have to move forward with a sense of achievement. That’s what we have done in past four years. $6 billion savings have been done in Punjab,” Shahbaz Sharif said.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund has been functional since nine years and this is the biggest fund in South Asia. He said that our school enrollment has touched 95 percent and this has been endorsed by third party audit.

Likewise, he added that we are launching CT scan machines in all district hospitals of Punjab. He said that we have launched these machines in majority of District Headquarters Hospitals (DHQ) as of now.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the Punjab government bears all the expenses of these CT scan tests.

“Money saved has been used in DHQ hospitals, CT scan machines, pathology labs, special ambulance service for women, quality free medicines,” he said.

Shahbaz Sharif said that if we get proper opportunity again, we will deliver 10 times more.
