ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Thursday said Pakistan and Iran were enjoying deep and brotherly relations as we share not only religion but historical, cultural and literary heritage as well.

In a meeting with Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran Mehdi Hunar Dost in Islamabad, the advisor said that relations in field of literature and culture need to be further strengthened between the two brotherly countries.

He informed the Ambassador that his ministry has established Dar-ul-Tarjuma at Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) with an objective to translate quality books and literature.

He said that his ministry would also gift 22 volumes Urdu dictionary to Urdu Department of Tehran University and Allama Iqbal Center in Mashhad.

Advisor to Prime Minister and Iran Ambassador also agreed on initiating archeology experts exchange program between the two countries.

They also discussed the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between National Language Authority, Pakistan and Idara-e-Farhangistan Farsi, Iran.

Iran Ambassador Mehdi Hunar Dost welcomed the establishment of Dar-ul-Tarjuma and expressed hope that Urdu literature would be translated into ‘Farsi’ to further bring people of two brotherly countries more close.

Joint Secretaries of National History and Literary Heritage Junaid Akhlaq, Mashhood Mirza and other officials of Iran Embassy was also present on the occasion.
