Monitoring Desk | March 13, 2026: Pakistan’s armed forces have intensified military operations against terrorist infrastructure inside Afghanistan under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, targeting locations used to plan and facilitate cross-border attacks into Pakistan.
According to security sources, the latest round of precision airstrikes successfully hit multiple militant-linked installations, including an ammunition dump associated with the 313 Corps in Kabul. Officials said the depot was being used by militant groups, including elements linked to the Afghan Taliban, to supply weapons and ammunition for attacks against Pakistan.
Authorities stated that video footage released by Pakistan’s security establishment shows the ammunition storage facility being precisely targeted, emphasizing that the strikes were limited to militant infrastructure and did not involve civilian areas.
Security officials said the footage was released to counter claims circulating in Afghan and Indian media that Pakistani forces were targeting civilian populations inside Afghanistan.
Pakistan maintains that the ongoing operation focuses solely on terrorist camps, logistical bases, and installations that directly or indirectly support militant activities against Pakistan.
Security sources provided a summary of militant losses since the start of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, claiming significant damage to militant networks allegedly operating from Afghan territory:
- 663 militants killed
- More than 887 injured
- 249 militant posts destroyed
- 44 posts captured
- 224 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery systems destroyed
- 70 militant and support infrastructure sites targeted through air operations
Officials said that during the night of March 12–13, Pakistani forces conducted coordinated strikes in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar, focusing on camps and logistical hubs believed to be linked with militant activities targeting Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities rejected reports from TOLO News English, which claimed that Afghan forces had conducted retaliatory drone or airstrikes against Pakistani military installations in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Pakistani security officials, three rudimentary drones allegedly launched by militants affiliated with Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK) attempted to target locations in Kohat on March 13. The drones were neutralized through electronic warfare countermeasures by Pakistan’s armed forces.
Officials said the drones were commercial observation-type drones modified to carry small explosive payloads. Debris from the intercepted drones reportedly injured two civilians.
Pakistan’s security establishment described the Afghan Ministry of Defense’s claims of successful strikes as “fabricated and misleading,” accusing Afghan authorities and affiliated media outlets of spreading misinformation to project a narrative of military success.
Pakistani officials reiterated that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until the stated objectives are achieved, emphasizing that the campaign aims to dismantle cross-border militant networks responsible for attacks inside Pakistan.
Security agencies maintain that the incident further demonstrates the alleged involvement of militant groups operating from Afghan territory in acts of terrorism inside Pakistan, while stressing that Pakistani forces will continue to respond with “professionalism and precision” to safeguard national security.
