ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has offered its sympathies and condolences to Afghanistan over the loss of precious lives and material damage due to heavy rains in Parwan province.

Nearly 100 people have been killed by heavy rains and flooding in Afghanistan’s Parwan province especially in its Capital Charikar.

In a Twitter statement on Friday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that Pakistan offers its sympathies and condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan at the loss of precious lives & material damage due to heavy rains in Parwan province.  “Pakistan stands in solidarity with Afghanistan in this hour of grief and pray for recovery of missing people,” the Spokesperson said. Besides the fatalities, more than 100 people have suffered injuries while dozens of houses and vehicles have been destroyed when torrential rains and flash flooding wreaked havoc in Parwan province.
