Pakistan condemns militant’s attack on Indian consulate in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Friday condemned the militant’s attack on the Indian consulate in western Afghanistan earlier in the day, and reiterated condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

In a statement in Islamabad, the foreign office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that no cause justifies targeting of diplomatic missions.

Earlier in the day, four heavily armed militants attacked the Indian consulate in the main western Afghan city of Herat while during the encounter with the security forces two suicide bombers were killed and another was wounded.

However, according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesman in New Delhi, all staff members in the consulate are safe.
