Pakistan condemns cross border attacks from Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday condemned the unprovoked attack on its border posts from Afghanistan, emphasizing that the Afghan government must take concrete steps to stop the use of its territory against Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, two soldiers were killed while three others including one officer sustained injuries in an attack of militants from across the border in Bajaur agency.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that the matter has been raised with the Afghan government in Kabul and with their Embassy in Islamabad.

“It has been emphasized that Afghanistan must take concrete steps to stop the use of its territory against Pakistan,” the Foreign Office spokesperson said.

“For its part, Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan.”
