ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met on the sidelines of 15th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of Government Council Meeting in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Thursday.

The two leaders held detailed discussions on the entire range of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction on the progress achieved.

   

Both sides agreed to continue cooperation in all spheres of bilateral relations, a foreign office statement issued in Islamabad said.

Both sides also exchanged views on prevailing regional and global issues including Afghanistan, Kashmir and South Asia and agreed to continue consultations in line with their strategic cooperative partnership.

They agreed to continue close coordination at the United Nations and other multilateral forums.

Pakistan thanked China for its support in becoming the full member of the SCO.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that Pakistan and China were “all weather” friends and strategic partners.

China appreciates Pakistan’s contribution to fight terrorism, extremism and separatism and opposes any false insinuations in this regard, he added.

Sartaj Aziz and Wang Yi were in Bishkek to participate in the 15th SCO Heads of Government’s Council meeting. Premier Li Keqiang leads the Chinese delegation.
