ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The US Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad and the Resolute Support Mission Commander General Austin Scott Miller visited Islamabad on April 14.

In a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad and General Austin Scott Miller discussed the United States’ ongoing efforts for sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s military leaders reaffirmed their support for the US efforts and renewed their commitment to act to advance a political settlement to the conflict in Afghanistan.

Another Pakistan army soldier martyred in North Waziristan

Meanwhile, another Pakistan army personnel Lance Naik Irshad Khan embraced Shahadat when terrorists opened fire on the Security Forces in North Waziristan, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The ISPR said that the Security Forces spotted a move of terrorists in North Waziristan, and as soon as the Quick Reaction Force cordoned the area, terrorists opened fire.

Resultantly, 26-year-old Lance Naik Irshad Khan, a resident of Jamrud town of Khyber district, embraced Shahadat.

Earlier on Monday, the 32-year-old Pakistan army soldier Naik Adil Shahzad was also martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Dargai, eight kilometers North West of Datta Khel, North Waziristan.
