The UK Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Kabul wherein he paid a day-long official visit on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation particularly current developments in the Afghan peace process, and measures to further enhance bilateral and defense cooperation were discussed.
The COAS also offered condolences on the sad demise of the Duke of Edinburgh His Royal Highness Prince Philip and said that the world has lost a highly respected friend.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region, especially the Afghan peace process.
General Bajwa thanked the dignitary for UK’s contribution towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan and said that the Pakistan army greatly values its friendly relations with the United Kingdom.
