Rawalpindi, Pakistan The Secretary General of United Nations António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres has awarded UN medal to Pakistani Peacekeeper Naik Naeem Raza who embraced shahadat (Martyrdom) in Democratic Republic Congo during an ambush on UN convoy in Jan 2018.

According to Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army, the medal is awarded to blue helmets for their supreme sacrifice in line of duty. So Far 156 Pakistan Peace keepers have laid their lives for global peace and stability.

It is pertinent to mention that UN peacekeeping missions involving soldiers of Pakistan Army cover about 70 operations in different parts of world.
