Monitoring Desk: The Presidential office of Afghanistan called the meeting of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa with President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday as a “new opportunity to take forward bilateral relation between the two countries”.

In a press statement issued by the President Office, it is stated that President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani stressed over practical measures to consolidate the environment of trust and confident created between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Meanwhile a statement issued by Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Armed Forces, COAS General Qamar Bajwa discussed regional security among other issues with President Ashraf Ghani.

Pakistan and Afghanistan hold indestructible relations with deficit of trust. Both countries accuse each other of housing enemies of each other. Islamabad says that terrorism injected in Pakistan has direct link with Indian intelligence agency RAW which according to Pakistan is being operated from Afghanistan with the active support of Afghan intelligence agency NDS. Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav who was arrested by Pakistani forces last year testified in his video confessional statement that he was operating in Pakistan with the direct support of NDS.

Moreover, former spokesperson of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Ehsanullah Ehsan also confirmed that RAW and NDS were providing funding, technical support and training to TTP to destabilise Pakistan and TTP leadership is (was) residing in Afghanistan. On the other hand, Kabul claims that Pakistan is housing Haqqani group and Quetta Shura.

Civil war in Afghanistan has become constant threat to regional security and Pakistan along with China, Russia and Iran is trying for a peaceful solution of Afghan civil war while Kabul and Washington are trying to win war with power since US initiated “Operation Enduring Freedom” 16 years ago in Afghanistan along with its NATO allies.

Recently, Pakistan tabled a formula to United States to deal with Afghan civil war through ‘closure of conflict” option instead of continuing war for winning the conflict. The narrative was placed by national Security Advisor (NSA) of Pakistan Gen Janjua (retd) during his meeting with US Ambassador to Pakistan. Reports suggest that Gen Janjua also placed an idea of establishing “US Political Authority” that would actively work for political solution of Afghan civil war.
