RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Iranian Interior Minister Dr. Ahmad Vahidi met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at Pakistan army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday.

In the meeting, the Iranian Ambassador, the Commander Iranian Border Guards, and the Defence Attaché were also present.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Pakistan-Iran relations, the regional security, border cooperation, and the situation in Afghanistan.

Earlier in the morning, a nine-member Iranian delegation led by its Interior Minister Dr. Ahmad Vahidi arrived in Islamabad on a day-long visit.

On arrival, he was received by the Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and other senior ranking officials.

The Iranian interior minister will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and other high officials.

The talks will focus on bilateral relations, Pakistan-Iran border management and exchange of prisoners.
